About Leicester

Leicester is a town and unitary consultant region in the East Midlands of England, and the local city of Leicestershire. In the 2011 survey, the populace of the City of Leicester unitary authority was 329,839 creation it the most populated city in the East Midlands area. 

Leicester is the link of two main railway line (the north/south Midland Main Line and the East/West Birmingham). Leicester is the home-based to football club Leicester City. This club started the main upset by winning the 2016 Premier Association label.

 Climate:

Leicester is a town in the East Midlands of England. it is also the country town of Leicestershire. This city is closer to the eastern end of the National Forest. According to the 2011 census, its population was 329,839. This population results in the most populated city in East Midland region. 

 Government:

On 1 April 1997, Leicester City Council suited a unitary authority. Before then, local government was a two-tier system: the city and county councils were accountable for several features of local administration facilities: this system is still in place in the rest of Leicestershire. Leicestershire County Council reserved its HQs at County Hall in Glenfield, just outside the city border but within the urban area. The managerial offices of Leicester City Assembly are in the centre of the town at 115 Charles Street, having enthused from Welford Place, to be industrialised into a multifaceted of offices and plazas. Some services still cover the whole of the city and countries, but for the most part, the councils are independent.

After a long period of Labour administration, the city council from May 2003 was tracked by a Conservative coalition under Roger Blackmore, which misshapen in November 2004. The minority Labour group ran the city until May 2005, under Ross Willmott, when the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives moulded a new coalition, again under the leadership of Roger Blackmore.
